Hidden costs after booking and no parking Positive: There were 3 separate beds - 2 singles and a double - which was what we were looking for. Negative: After booking the property through booking.com I received a message informing I had to pay either a £150 deposit through a website external to booking.com OR a non-refundable damage waiver of £65 through a website external to booking.com. This practice goes against booking.com’s instructions to keep all payments through their platform. We chose to pay the £65 non-refundable waiver, which essentially increased the cost for the booking AFTER I made the booking. I’m glad I did, because the property was filled with so may chips, hopes, and scratches on the wall, plus a radiator that had been pulled off the wall, that it would have been a nightmare trying to prove we’d caused no damage to get the deposit back. Furthermore, there was no parking. We had to park a street away on a public road. Also, those staying in the flat next door woke us up at 3am by throwing stones at the window because they were locked out.

Never again Positive: Location & coffee shop opposite Negative: Filthy, damaged , punch holes in the walls. It had not been cleaned when we arrived however the team arrived and were brilliant. They were shocked how much work needs doing in the property to repair.

Positive: Great location and it had everything we needed. Hot water and a decent shower. Clear instructions on how to get in and what to do with rubbish etc. Negative: The flat was very cold when we arrived as the heaters hadn't been on. It took hours to warm up, but it did eventually warm up. We couldn't get out of the door to the main building unless someone upstairs buzzed it open on the intercom.

Comfortable flat in a lovely location. Positive: Lovely location, nicely presented and clean. Negative: Off road parking wasn’t possible due to scaffold, however we could park just a few meters down the road. There were a couple of minor issues in the flat, but we let the owner know and they responded very positively.
