Negative: Human waste outside of the property and drugs which the owner blamed on me.

Positive: Clean tidy lovely place Negative: Liked everything

Nice pied-a-terre for a couple of days Positive: Close to centre. Student daughter whom I came to visit loved the washing machine. Nice that I could bring my dog (for a £25 fee). Negative: TV in front room flickered. A broom/mop would be nice to keep it tidy.

STAY AWAY.... Positive: Car park- plenty of off-street parking The size of the replacement flat we got. Location- It is close to the city centre, about 15 minutes by car. Negative: Very disappointing stay with poor communication and serious comfort issues. On arrival, we were left waiting 30 minutes in the dark and freezing cold while trying to contact the host, as the original flat had no power. We were then moved to a different upstairs flat. Although bigger, the stairs are very steep; a small dog would struggle and would need to be carried. If you have mobility issues, stay away! The biggest issue was the lack of heating. The downstairs heating in the replacement flat did not work at all. The host first said he’d never had an issue, then said it was the festive period, so no one could attend. When I asked for a portable heater, I was told the host was out of the country. The next day, a repair was cancelled because the maintenance person “doesn’t like dogs.” Result: no heating downstairs for the entire stay. The bathroom is also downstairs and has no heater whatsoever. It was absolutely freezing. The electric shower is weak, making it hard to shower properly, and there are no hooks to hang clothes. Because of the cold, we came home with a cold. Other issues: Kitchen - all you need for a short stay, with tea and coffee provided. The kettle needs descaling! The sofa is uncomfortable and needs replacing. BEDS- OMG, you need to be in the middle to be somewhat comfortable… Pillows are just flat, you got plenty, but they're all crap and uncomfortable. Bedrooms are a good size but have very few hangers. DEPOSIT- you got 2 options: 1. Pay £50 and don’t worry about a thing, pay £130, but if there is any damage, you will be charged. And believe me, this flat got some damage already. When I posted pictures, the owner replied HE WAS NOT AWARE OF SOME OF THEM! Clearly, he just doesn’t have a clue how to run this rent-a-property business. FOR DOG OWNERS: The only green space immediately around the flat is a graveyard. The nearest dog park is around a 15-minute walk, but be aware that there are many dogs with poor or no recall in the area.

Positive: Great hosts and accommodating in a convenient location.
